I was diagnosed with sciatica about a year ago. I went to a therapist who gave me exercises to do at home. I could hardly get out of bed in the morning! The exercises did not improve my situation, and were no fun to do. I went to the pool at the local high school, and started to do exercises that I just made up myself, or were suggested by others in the pool. My pain slowly dissipated, and in about three months was gone completely. Today I work out regularly in the pool, and have developed my own routines using fins and two "boogie boards" to get aerobic and strength training. I am stronger and more flexible (72 yrs old), and enjoy the full body workout that I worked out by just moving in the water.
